  • Don't Open and Close files
    • If MAXFILOP is too small, DB2 will spend lots of time and CPU energy closing and opening files.
    • Use Snapshot or Event monitors to ensure that "Database Files Closed" = 0.

  • Get Space-GUY or Pool-GUY and have them keep an eye on this for you.
