Database-GUYS Inc. Releases Connection-MINER™ Executive Client for IBM DB2® UNIX

SPENCERPORT, NY - (March 5, 2001) - Database-GUYS Inc. has announced the availability of the Connection-MINER™ Executive Client for their popular Connection-MINER resource utilization analysis tool for IBM DB2® UDB UNIX. The new optional graphical user interface enhances the analysis of key performance data through the use of graphs and charts, allowing users to see at a glance how database resources are being used and by whom.

Connection-MINER provides valuable statistical information to help identify end users who are having problems or are using a high level of DB2 resources, allowing tuning efforts to be focused on these "heavy hitters." Connection-MINER also shows resource utilization trends by hour of the day, day of the week, week, month, and more, along with an accurate means of performing usage chargebacks.

"Connection-MINER is a great tool for monitoring DB2 resource utilization and usage trends," says Scott Hayes, president and founder of Database-GUYS Inc. "And now with the new Executive Client, users can get the information they need at a glance. The pictorial representation of system usage trends and other connection data allow users to explore DB2 performance data like they've never seen it before."

The new Connection-MINER Executive Client is already earning praise. "Database-GUYS has once again developed another winner with Connection-MINER Executive Client," said Mike Paris, senior database administrator at Trans Union LLC, the nation's leading information solutions company. "This is another Database-GUYS product that is easy to install and navigate. I have already seen some interesting results."

Trans Union has been using the entire suite of Database-GUYS Performance Management Tools since 1999 to optimize the performance of their large DB2 databases of consumer credit information. Trans Union chose the Database-GUYS tools for several reasons. "The Database-GUYS tools suite has greatly enhanced our ability to quickly determine bottlenecks," says Paris. "We can proactively determine problems before our customers call us, and the historical trending gives us the ability to manage our system resources very effectively. In short, good tools, good service and good price."
