ROCHESTER, NY - (February 4, 2002) - Database-Guys announced today that it has hired Philip Gunning as Vice President of its Professional Services Division. As a recognized industry expert on IBM DB2* Universal Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Gunning will apply his years of industry expertise to deliver Database-Guys and DB2 UDB product training and consulting.

Prior to joining Database-Guys, Gunning served as a senior systems consultant at Quest Software, providing product training, consulting, and technical sales support. In that leadership role, he was instrumental in assisting customers utilize the Quest DB2 products. He also had the opportunity to observe how DB2 UDB is used in disparate platforms and environments at numerous companies.

Mr. Gunning has over 16 years of experience in the Information Technology industry with DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows and DB2 for z/OS and OS/390. With industry experience in the retail, financial, government, and distribution industries, he has been instrumental in helping various companies achieve significant performance gains with their DB2 implementations on all platforms. Gunning is a member of the IDUG North American Conference Planning Committee and an Associate List Owner of the DB2-L listserver. Gunning also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Alvernia College, Reading, Pennsylvania.
